TEDx Event at Oryx International School
Oryx International School, Doha, are proud to host their first TEDx Youth Talk, today. A landmark event designed to empower students with the skills, confidence and curiosity to become articulate, thoughtful global citizens.
Set under the compelling theme #BehindTheReel, the event explores what lies behind the polished images, success stories and confident smiles often seen on social media. This is an extremely important topic, with the pressures facing children of school age, and it is an excellent idea for the school to cover a topic of such relevance and importance to this audience.
Through powerful talks and student-driven inquiry, the TEDx programme will shine a light on topics such as invisible struggles, the pressure to maintain a flawless online presence, and the gap between public perfection and private challenges.
Lucky students will hear from a range of voices within and beyond the school community, including social media personalities and inspirational young speakers - each offering perspectives that are often left “off-camera.”
Adding to the excitement, Oryx International School are welcoming two headline speakers who are widely recognised within Qatar’s social media landscape:

Why Does TEDx Matter for Students Across Orbital Schools?
The TEDx platform is far more than a speaking event it is a transformational learning experience. By researching, debating and crafting talks on meaningful issues, students develop essential skills that extend far beyond the stage.
These include:
• Critical thinking and research expertise. TEDx encourages students to dig deeply into topics that matter to them, teaching them how to evaluate sources, form reasoned arguments and communicate ideas with clarity.
