About the Opportunity
The opportunity arises due to the current Head of Maths moving back to the UK next summer after 5 years leading maths. Under his leadership, maths has been transformed and last summer saw the school´s best ever results: at GCSE 87% of grades were 5-9, and 41% 7-9, with a value added score of +1.2.
This exciting opportunity is to lead the secondary maths team in our all-through school. Applicants should have experience and expertise in teaching maths at A'level and GCSE, with proven exam success, and a willingness to work collaboratively. If you have a passion for teaching maths, with relentless positivity and high expectations for the students you have the privilege to teach, do apply. Most importantly, we are seeking to appoint a leader who will also be a strong team-player, with a good sense of humour, who is caring and authentic, hardworking and resilient, and with a steadfast commitment and belief that all children can achieve.
The successful candidate will also be a part of the extended leadership team in the school and will want to play their part in the development and implementation of the school´s strategic plan, supporting the delivery of the school´s mission to make the school the number one choice on the island. As a British school, specialising in teaching the National Curriculum to a diverse, international student population, strong English language is an essential requirement and applications from native-level speakers of English are preferred.
