Melanie Hitchcocks

Mel began her career in education in the UK where she worked with students with emotional and behavioural difficulties for eight years before moving into Secondary to teach History, which is her first love.

In 2017, Mel moved to the British School of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia where she taught History and led the academic team in her role as Academic Director. Mel joined Orbital in February 2020 as Head of School at the English International School Moscow. Since April 2023, she has been Principal of the British International School of Ljubljana. She has successfully led school teams through COBIS, CIS and BSO inspections.

Mel is a qualified Teacher and has a Master´s degree in Medieval History. During her time in Moscow, she completed her National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). She has recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring for Educational Practitioners. Mel continues to teach History.
